Reflection

Sadly, my Alibrije broke before it could be fired (I was unable to get a picture of the pieces, so all there are progress photos). The reason it broke is that I used excessive amounts of water and wedged the clay improperly. Recently, I have been struggling with wedging, it seems like I've almost forgotten how (but I am still making an effort to re-learn). I was also repairing it with water instead of slip, so it just kept breaking in the same spot.

Plan

My plan was to create a rectangular prism, stretch the front, and round it out. Then I would use a needle tool to draw a line on either side of the rectangle to create the look of a mouth. I would then make shallow divots with a mix of my fingers and a loop tool.  I then made the body by extruding a long strip of clay, and then using my hands to thin it out and give it a tip.

Giant Garter Snake

When I began constructing the snake, I realized that it was not classified as a keystone species.
